Avoid social interaction due to shame or depression.
Fears of abandonment.
Have only limited social contact.
Social media is one of the main reasons that cause social isolation when a person sits in front of social media platforms for long and repeated periods throughout the day. These results don’t mean social media use is always harmful or that all people who use social media feel isolated. For some people, social media offers access to a sense of community and belonging. Some people use social media the right way.
Social isolation is not necessarily bad; most people crave solitude at least occasionally. Being alone can be relaxing, meditative, and rejuvenating.
Many circumstances can cause people to be isolated from others:-

Loss of loved ones:- Isolating after the loss of friends or family members.

Unemployment:- losing a job or being unable to secure new employment can lead individuals to self-isolate.
Isolation can increase the risks of mental health issues such as depression, dementia, social anxiety,For example, a person might develop depression because of intense loneliness, then feel even more isolated because of their depression.
