For many young people, using alcohol, drugs, or other substances like cigarettes is just part of growing up. Many of them try these substances only a few times and stop, while others may continue to use them on a more regular basis. Using alcohol or drugs can affect young people’s general health, physical growth, and emotional and social development. It can also change how well they make decisions, how well they think, and how quickly they can react. And using alcohol or drugs can make it hard for young people to control their actions.
Addiction is a disease that affects your brain and behavior, Repeated and regular recreational use can lead to other problems like anxiety and depression. You might take more than the regular dose of pills or use someone else’s prescription,and can have serious consequences. Heavy drinking can seriously damage the liver, stomach, heart, brain, and nervous system. It also increases the risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, larynx, and esophagus, so they may develop vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
As drug abuse takes hold, your job performance may progressively deteriorate, and you may start to neglect social or family responsibilities.
Many people who experience addiction are surprised at how difficult quitting can be. Overcoming an addiction is a process that requires making the decision to quit, planning how you will quit, dealing with the effects of withdrawal, and avoiding relapse.

There are some strategies to quit addiction:-
